The Office of Children & Young People's Service (OCYPS) - Finance provides a combination of traded and non-traded financial services.
Non-traded Corporate Activities
The budget for OCYPS Finance funds the LEA’s responsibilities under section 48 of the School Standards and Framework Act for:
· Generation and distribution of schools’ delegated budgets
· Monitoring and evaluation of schools’ financial returns, including budget submissions.
It also funds the provision of advice to the Head of Finance & Performance on schools’ and other budgets and the provision of information and advice to the Director of Planning & Development to meet statutory requirements for the whole service.
In addition it provides advice and support to individual OCYPS budget holders for financial management and planning, as well as ensuring compliance with financial regulations through regular monitoring of financial performance.
