What help is there?

There are three kinds of help, depending on your circumstances:

  • free transport
  • subsidised denominational transport
  • spare seat travel

Free transport

Children who are entitled to free transport are provided a pass that enables them to travel on a specific service between home and school.

Subsidised denominational transport

Children who are attending a denominational (religious) school may qualify for help with their transport. Their family will normally have to pay a contribution towards the cost of their travel.

Spare seat travel

Children who do not qualify for free transport may apply to travel in seats on school buses that are not needed for pupils who qualify for free travel. These seats must be paid for, and are available on a first come, first served basis.
