Expansion of Ely St Mary’s Church of England Voluntary Aided Junior School

Following a period of consultation the Governing Body of Ely St Mary’s Church of England Voluntary Aided Junior School, is proposing to make a prescribed alteration to the school, from 1 September 2013.

It is proposed that the school will be expanded, by raising the published admission number (PAN) from 90 to 120, to provide additional places for pupils aged 7-11 in the City of Ely.

The proposal will increase the overall size of the school from three forms of entry (360 places) to four forms of entry (480 places).

The Council has agreed to fund the scheme to expand the accommodation at Ely St Mary’s Junior School, so that it can provide the additional places required.

Spring Meadow Community Infant School is the partner and “feeder” infant school for Ely St Mary’s Junior School. The Infant School serves pupils aged 4-7, and was expanded from a three form entry school to a four form entry school in September 2010. These additional children need to be accommodated at the expanded Ely St Mary’s Junior School.

A statutory notice has been published, and is available to download below. The notice is an extract from the complete proposal which can be obtained from Ian Trafford (see contact details below).

There is a four week period from the date of publication of these proposals, for any person to object, or make comments, on the proposal, in writing, by sending them to Ian Trafford, Education Officer, Cambridgeshire County Council, Box CC1209, Castle Court, Castle Hill, Cambridge, CB3 0AP.
