Connexions staff work closely with schools and colleges to help provide Information, Advice and Guidance for their students about their decisions and choices. We also work with training providers. Here are some of our main activities:
Connexions Personal Advisers
- Personal advisers visit schools and colleges regularly, to work with individual young people or groups of students.
- They help school and colleges plan and provide their careers education and related programmes.
Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) and Education Support
This central team provides:
- Support for school and college staff delivering or managing the careers education curriculum.
- Continued Professional Development for staff involved in careers education.
- Advice, training and funding relating to Individual Learning Planning (ILP).
- Information for young people about careers and education choices, health, housing, freetime, relationships, work and training and more.
- Support and funding for school and college staff delivering or managing their Connexions Information base.
- Work experience placements for young people.
- Support for many aspects of Work Related Learning.
- A job vacancy service for young people.
