The Department for Innovation, Universities & Skills (DIUS, formerly known as DfES) have set the following deadlines:

For new applicants starting University in 2008, the application (form PN1) deadlines are:

25th April 2008 : if you wish to apply for non-means tested loan towards living costs and a loan to help with tuition fees. 

27th June 2008: if you wish to apply for means tested support. This includes, mean tested loan, grant support, plus a loan to help with tuition fees.

For students entering the second or subsequent year the deadline for your application (form PR1)is 23rd May 2008.
 
Upon receipt of a paper application form it normally takes 30 working days to process.

Upon receipt of a fully completed on-line application it normally takes 20 working days to process.  

Please note, during the busy period between June to September it may take longer to process your application.

We strongly recommend that you apply within the given deadlines to ensure funding is in place ready for the start of term.
