The application process for 2009-10 funding for small grants closed on the 1st October 08. The new brochure for 2010-11 funding should be available in July/August 2009.

Successful funding applications for 2009-10 will be notified by the end of January 2009 at the latest.

Community and voluntary groups are being encouraged to apply for grant funding from Cambridgeshire County Council for 2009/10.

The County Council has £113,000 to distribute to organisations which contribute to the authority's objectives and priorities. Small groups with a total income of less than £50,000 a year can apply for grants of up to £3,000 each.

To be eligible to apply, a group must be a not-for-profit organisation, have a total income of less than £50,000 a year and be doing work which directly benefits residents of the Cambridgeshire County Council area.

They must show they are in need of financial help, be properly managed and promote equal opportunites. Groups must also comply with Criminal Records Bureau checks where necessary.

The County Council is keen to support groups that have not previously applied and new groups just starting up. Match funding is not a requirement, but applicants will be expected to demonstrate that other sources of funding have been sought.

All those receiving grants will be required to complete and submit a short monitoring form six months after the award to show how the money has helped.
