Young people getting involved
Extras
Picture of a group of young people

Our work is based on the belief that effective youth work empowers young people to be part of the decision-making process and take action as a result.

This theme runs throughout our work but there are some activities which focus more specifically on getting involved. These are:

  • youth club committees and participation projects
  • youth councils which enable young people to have a voice and take community action
  • the Youth Parliament which links into UK and European initiatives
  • the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Young people are also encouraged to get involved through our young peoples' websites where visitors are invited to have their say, take part in surveys/questionnaires and join in a regular discussion forum.
