A number of communities around Cambridgeshire have developed Youth Councils in order to empower young people.

These 'Youth Councils' involve young people in:

  • discussing local issues;
  • improving facilities for young people:
  • fund raising;
  • being part of the wider decision-making process;
  • advocating on behalf of other young people.

In some cases the Youth Council feeds into the National and European 'Youth Parliament'.

Youth Councils are usually formed in partnership with other groups and agencies.
