Get active and get the most out of your countryside
Do you like to get outdoors and do things in the countryside? Do you like to be active and find new interests?
We have not been able to produce a Countryside Events leaflet for July to December 2008, but we do have links to the web sites of our regular contributors:
- do check the links for local events
- download our free leaflets on local walks
- check our on-line map of Cambridgeshire's Public Rights of Way
- have a great time exploring Cambridgeshire's countryside!
There is always a wide range of things to do, whatever the season – you can blow the cobwebs out of autumn and winter, and make the most of the spring and summer.
Going out in the Countryside? - Be Prepared
The English weather is unpredictable, so be prepared! Don’t forget to bring a sun or rain hat, sun creams or extra jumpers if appropriate. A drink is always useful, whatever the weather, as are some snacks to keep you going. A back pack will make things easier to carry, and will leave your arms free to help you over stiles and through gates.
Catch the bus or train!
Going by bus or train helps to prevent congestion, noise and pollution, and gives you the chance to relax and enjoy the views. For more information on getting to your event, contact either the organiser or the County Council’s Public Transport Team (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) on: 01223 717740, for the latest transport information.
