Legal orders
Since the last completed review of each Definitive Map and Statement, many hundreds of legal orders have been made, each altering the registration of individual public rights of way.
In order to determine the legal line and status of individual paths, a number of records have to be checked and there is no single document that can be referred to as the Definitive Map and Statement for any area of the county.
Viewing the Map
If you wish to view the Definitive Map and Statement, please make an appointment so that we can ensure a Definitive Map Officer is available to help you establish the correct legal line and status of the path you are interested in.
