Fifth stage - Timescale
The application for modification orders is variable depending on volume of case work.
A 4-month target for determination
There is currently no statutory time limit for the determination (i.e resolution whether or not to make an Order) of applications. At present the timescale is on average 6-8 months: however applicants should note that this may vary depending on the volume of casework. It is best for the potential applicant to contact the Senior Definitive Map Officer for the most up-to-date advice.
If objections to the proposal are received at the consultation stage, or if the proposals are amended, the timescale may be extended.
