All available historic, written evidence must be researched at this stage.
Records Search
The map case officer will also conduct a search of all the records in the County Records Office to see whether there is any documentary evidence to support that a Public Right of Way exists over the claimed route.
This includes:
- First and Second Edition Ordnance Survey maps
- Inclosure Awards and Maps
- Tithe Apportionments and Maps
- The 1910 Finance Act Maps
- Railway and canal survey maps and schedules
- Quarter session rolls and any other available documentary evidence.
