Fifth stage - Publication
Definitive Map Modification Orders follow a formal publication procedure.
Objections
Once made and published, Definitive Map Modification Orders are subject to a statutory period for public objection.
If objections are received and are not withdrawn following written negotiation, the County Council cannot confirm a Definitive Map Modification Order itself, but is obliged to forward it to the Planning Inspectorate for determination.
This may result in a Public Hearing or Inquiry being held to determine the Order. See The Planning Inspectorate’s website for more information.
