Common land and village green registration
The District Councils deal with most aspects of village greens and open space management. However, you need to contact the Commons Registration Service at the County Council (see right) to register a village green or piece of common land.
Cambridgeshire County Council is the designated Registration authority under the Commons Registration Act 1965 for all registered units of land in the county - excluding Peterborough City Council, a unitary authority.

ACRE (Action for Communities in Rural England) also supports village survey and design projects. Visit their website or contact the local office for Cambridgeshire Tel 01353 860850.
