The Biodiversity Partnership set up a Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Biological Records Centre, hosted at the Wildlife Trust offices at Cambourne. It was launched July 2005. The record centre is a 'one stop shop' for a whole range of people and organisations, such as developers, ecological consultants, planners and the general public.

A Heritage Lottery bid for £224,000 was awarded in December 2004 to help with the setting up costs of the centre over 3 years.

Two Data Officers digitise ecological data and carry out data searches on request. A Centre Manager and a Community Officer started working in May 2005. Wildlife recording is promoted with recording events and through the website http://www.cpbrc.org.uk where people can directly submit their records.
