In this section you find the latest news from the Biodiversity Partnership.
The Biodiversity Partnership organised a workshop "Our Wild Neighbours - How can we help Urban Biodiversity Thrive" to engage with people working in biodiversity projects in cities, towns and villages. More information can be found in the left hand side menu.
All public authorities have a Biodiversity Duty under the Natural Environment and Rural Communities (NERC) Act. The Biodiversity Partnership explored in a workshop with Local Authority respresentatives how they can "Think Biodiversity..." and fulfil their Biodiversity Duty. Guidance for implementing the Biodiversity Duty is available from DEFRA (see link on right).
The partnership has set up a webbased Cambridgeshire Orchard Fruit Guide. This database helps you to find locally grown fruit close to where you live. The fruit guide lists farmers' markets, road side stalls and farm shops, and also tells you about community orchards where you can get involved in a local project and harvest fruit for free. The link can be found on the right hand side.
