Growth and Green Infrastructure Seminar: What role for developers in delivering exemplar green infrastructure?
Cambridgeshire Horizons, the Environment Agency and Natural England recently hosted a seminar for organisations involved in delivering housing growth in the Cambridge Sub-region to share knowledge on delivering exemplar green infrastructure.
The event was held on Wednesday 12 December 2007 at Newnham College, Cambridge and involved developers, environmental and planning consultants and local authority representatives.

The key aims of the seminar were to:
- raise awareness of the strategic context of green infrastructure in the Cambridge Growth Area
- share current knowledge, experience and practical steps in achieving high quality accessible green infrastructure
Speakers covering these topics included Jonathan Billingsley from The Landscape Partnership, Chris Howes from the Environment Agency, Catherine Cairns from Natural England and a joint case study from Glen Richardson of Cambridge City Council and Ed Skeets of Grovesnor who provided details of how green infrastructure has been included within the plans for Cambridge Southern Fringe.
Delegates also had the opportunity to learn more about the Eco Towns prospectus and the Code for Sustainable Homes, and how these initiatives will effect developments in the sub-region from two speakers from Communities and Local Government.
Copies of all of the presentations and information from the delegate packs can be found on the right hand side.
