Going out in the countryside - be prepared
The English weather is unpredictable, so be prepared. Don’t forget to bring a sun or rain hat, sun creams or extra jumpers if appropriate. A drink is always useful whatever the weather, as are some snacks to keep you going. A back pack will make things easier to carry, and will leave your arms free to help you over stiles and through gates.
Catch the bus or train
Going by bus or train helps to prevent congestion, noise and pollution, and gives you the chance to relax and enjoy the views. For details contact the organiser or the County Council’s Public Transport Team (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) on: 0345 045 5200. See the link on the right of this page.
