With over 3000km of paths in the County there are plenty of routes to explore and enjoy. Finding the best opportunities for walking, cycling and riding can be a challenge in its own right and often the best routes are those discovered on your own.
There are many published guides and places to visit and some suggestions of places to look are given below;
- OS maps
- The Ramblers Association
- Long Distance Walkers Association
- British Horse Society
- SUSTRANS
In addition, the County Council produces a limited selection of route guides. Click on the Cambridgeshire Promoted Routes page on the left for shorter walks and days out, and the Long Distance Routes page if you're feeling really adventurous.
Local walking groups have their own web sites. Follow the links here for some of them:

The Walks Around Britain team will be adding some walks in Cambridgeshire to their web site. The web site also has downloadable pod casts and useful information on outdoor recreation. See Related Links on the right of this page.
