Energy

Producing energy from fossil fuels creates a number of environmental problems. All stages of the process, from exploration and mining through to the burning of fossil fuels have significant impacts on the environment. Problems include the release of pollutants which damage health, and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions which contribute to global climate change.

Saving energy not only reduces our impact on the environment but also brings financial benefits.

The electricity and gas guides on the right-hand side give lots of information about the UK energy industry and how electricity and gas are generated.
