Planning enforcement and monitoring

Report a breach of planning control online

Cambridgeshire is a County of great diversity, varying from the historical towns and cities to the rural landscape of the Fens. It is important that the County’s diverse environment is protected from unauthorised development. The monitoring and enforcement role of Cambridgeshire County Council relates specifically to “county matters” and comprises the control of mineral and waste sites.

The Council is also the planning authority for the County Council’s own development such as new schools and transportation schemes, under Regulation 3 of the Town and Country Planning General Regulations 1992.

Who are we?

The Planning Enforcement & Monitoring Team consists of three Officers committed to monitoring compliance with planning permissions granted by the County Council for minerals and waste sites and the County Council’s own development, (e.g. schools). Our team also investigates alleged breaches of planning control at mineral and waste sites and our own developments.
