The County Council is required to produce an Annual Monitoring Report to assess the effectiveness of its Local Development Documents (LDDs) i.e. Minerals and Waste Plan, Statement of Community Involvement, Supplementary Planning Documents. The report will include an assessment of:
- Progress towards meeting the targets or milestones in local development documents, or, where they are or not on track why
- The impact the policies are having on national, regional and local targets and any other targets identified in the LDDs
- Whether the policies need adjusting or replacing because they are not working as it was intended or are not achieving sustainable development objectives.
- If policies or proposals do need changing, suggested actions to achieve this
The Annual Monitoring Report will be publicly available and will be submitted to the Government Office for information.
Whenever a revision to the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme is required, as a result of annual monitoring or other factors, the County Council will put this into effect and make the revised MWDS available for inspection and re-publish it. A copy will also be provided to all District Councils within Cambridgeshire.
The initial monitoring reports also report on 'saved' policies from the current Structure Plan, Waste Local Plan and Minerals Local Plan. These adopted Development Plan Documents are saved for a time period pending replacement by the Regional Spatial Strategy and LDDs.
