Cambridgeshire County Council is required to prepare a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) which sets out the standards the Council aims to achieve in relation to community involvement in the work we do. The Statement must include details of how these standards will be achieved in relation to:
a) the preparation, alteration and review of mineral and waste planning policy documents
b) significant development control decisions on planning applications related to mineral extraction and for facilities for waste disposal
c) significant development control decisions on planning applications related to the services that the County Council provides such as schools, libraries and roads
Cambridgeshire County Council amended the draft SCI in view of the comments received, and formally submitted an updated version of the SCI to the Secretary of State on 31 March 2006. From 31 March 2006 to the 12 May 2006, we undertook consultation on our submitted SCI.
A statement of Post-Submission Consultation has been written, which includes details of all
representations received in relation to the submitted SCI. This statement was sent to the Planning Inspectorate for their consideration. The Inspectorate concluded that the submission SCI was sound subject to minor changes. These minor changes have now been made, and Cambridgeshire County Council formally adopted its SCI on 17 October 2006.
