Development monitoring

The Research and Monitoring team make use of the Planning Application process as a source of information regarding the whereabouts and the scale of new development, both housing and business/other uses.

Planning applications and decisions are received from the districts.  Relevant applications are selected and entered onto the planning database (Acolaid) along with all of the details that enable development monitoring.

Live permissions are visited on an annual basis and development progress is recorded. A selection of Crystal Reports have been developed to output summary information so that the various monitoring requirement can be met.

The data is used to provide annual statistical returns to Government, and for district and regional monitoring reports. We are also contracted to report quarterly to Cambridgeshire Horizons Ltd on progress with new housing supply in the Cambridge Sub-Region
