Key findings from the latest survey are highlighted in the summary report that can be downloaded from the publications section and include:

  • Less than 5,000 sqm of new retail floorspace was built across Cambridgeshire between 2010 and 2011 compared to nearly 15,000 sqm in 2009-2010.
  • In the past year, there has been a large increase in the amount of land committed for retail development in Cambridgeshire (103,614 sqm) compared to 68,526 sqm at 31 March 2010. Over 33,000 sqm of this is located in Cambridge City and over 31,000 sqm in South Cambridgeshire.
  • 2010-2011 saw very little floorspace (2445 sqm) for town centre uses built in the town centres in Cambridgeshire compared to previous years.

Summary information tables are available for download in the publications section and detailed site by site completion and commitment figures are available on request.
