The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Waste Local Plan was adopted on 22 October 2003.
What's the Waste Local Plan about?
The policies of the plan were ‘saved’ pending the preparation of a new plan. These policies have now been largely superseded by the adopted Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Core Strategy.
The Plan is seeking to change the way we manage our waste, moving away from the traditional method of landfill, to much greater levels of recycling and recovery from waste. It therefore identifies a number of sites across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough for new waste management facilities where recycling and recovery of materials e.g. glass, paper, compost and energy from waste can take place.
