Cambridge Sub-Region Implementation Study
This study provided a basis for proposals developed in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough 2003 Structure Plan.
The Cambridge Sub-region Implementation Study examined the future provision of transport, health and education facilities needed as a result of the forecast growth and development of the region outlined in RPG6.
The report was carried out by Roger Tym and Partners and was commissioned in 2001 by Cambridgeshire County Council, EEDA and Go-East.
The key conclusions were:
Infrastructure totalling at least £2 billion, including transport measures and affordable housing is needed to keep pace with the amount of development.
Measures were needed to:
- Speed up the planning process
- Include more location specific proposals in the Structure Plan
- Secure funding from appropriate sources
- Establish a stakeholder partnership for the co-ordinated implementation of the Structure Plan
