Structure Plan Retail Study
A study looking at the retail 'health' of the main centres and market towns to help inform the review of the Structure Plan.
The purpose of this study (produced in 2001) was to inform and guide the strategic retail planning of the principal towns in the Structure Plan area. In particular, the study informed the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Structure Plan Review, and the Cambridge City Local Plan Review.
The study was carried out in two parts. The first stage undertook a health check of the principal towns in the Structure Plan area, to establish the baseline position. The second stage evaluated possible alternative scenarios for future development in the Cambridge Sub-region and the implications for retail floorspace.
