Disposal of oil tanks

What should I do with my oil?

You can bring engine or cooking oil from your home to your local recycling centre.

What should I do with my oil tank?

First, ensure that any oil remaining in the tank is drained and disposed of at a recycling centre or through a licensed contractor.  Find contractors here.

Oil tanks can be worth a substantial amount of money, so you could advertise it for sale.  Otherwise, you'll need to dispose of it through a contractor licensed to take them by the Environment Agency.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept central heating oil tanks at our recycling centres.
