TravelWise is an awareness campaign promoting healthy and sustainable transport. It is primarily aimed at the general public.

TravelWise in Cambridgeshire

The local aims of TravelWise are to:
· Promote walking, cycling, public transport and car sharing as viable and attractive ways of travelling.
· Promote new ways of working, through tele-working and home working for example.
· Raise awareness of the problems associated with increasing car dependency on the environment, health and local communities.

Cambridgeshire County Council is also a member of the National TravelWise Association, a collaboration of local authorities and various public sector organisations working in partnership to encourage and promote sustainable travel.

The TravelWise campaign also contributes to the aims of the County Council's Local Transport Plan and the Environment Strategy and Action Plan - policies that enable Cambridgeshire to develop and grow with minimal environmental impact whilst taking into account the interests of future generations.
