The Recycling in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (RECAP) partnership has been granted Beacon Council Status for Waste and Recycling 2006/7.

Beacon status is awarded to those authorities who have shown innovation and achievement in particular fields. Beacon Authorities are required to share their best practice with other authorities.

Cambridgeshire County Council as a member of the RECAP partnership will now share best practice with other local authorities about waste management practices and recycling initiatives.
