Plastics
Extras

Bluntisham, Grunty Fen and Milton and Whittlesey Recycling Centres have plastic recycling facilities.

Some disrict councils collect plastic bottles through kerbside recycling schemes. Other district councils provide plastic bottle banks at some of the bring sites within their districts.

For information on the type of plastic recycling schemes provided by your district council please use the district council link on the right hand side.

For general information on plastic recycling please use the link on the right hand side to the Recoup web page.

Ways you can reuse household plastic waste:

  • Use ice-cream tubs as lunch boxes.
  • Use lunch boxes and reusable sandwich bags rather than shrink-wrap.
  • Empty coleslaw/cream cheese containers can be reused to store food in fridges.
  • Take-away containers can now be used to store food in freezers.
  • Buy goods made from recycled plastic.
  • Encourage supermarkets and food/drink manufacturers to package a wider range of household products in reusable containers.
  • Reuse plastic shopping bags (better still use a cotton shopping bag).
