Animal Waste is waste (including straw and hay) produced from litter trays, hutches etc of normal domestic pets. (This category does not include horse manure)
What should you do with it?
1. Recycling Centres
You cannot take animal waste to any of the Household Waste Recycling Centres in Cambridgeshire.
2. District Councils
District/City Councils in Cambridgeshire will collect this kind of animal waste with the normal domestic refuse. This refers ONLY to domestic quantities.
Please contact your District/City Council directly with regard to the amounts acceptable.
Please ensure you wrap all animal waste carefully so as not to cause an unnecessary health risk.
Huntingdonshire District Council ask that their residents place this kind of waste in separate bags alongside their main waste.
3. Private contractors
You will need to contact the company directly to find out if they deal with this kind of waste.
If you do find a dead animal on the roadside please contact your District Council so that it can be removed and disposed of safely
