Pages are ranked by their relevance, with the best matches appearing highest up the list.

Relevance is determined by how closely pages match the search terms entered. This takes into consideration the following:

• If phrase searching has been used, pages containing the whole phrase exactly as specified will always appear first
• If multiple search terms have been used, pages containing all terms will carry precedence over other results
• How many of the search terms are contained within the page
• How many times each term appears
• If any of search terms appear within the page title or description
• If any of the terms have been specified as keywords by the page author
• Whether any of the terms appear on a page in a different tense
