"Basic navigation"
|
Navigation usually begins from a website's homepage. To return to the homepage click on the Cambridgeshire County Council logo located in the header on every page. |
|
From the homepage, you will need to decide which of the visible categories you think the information you are looking for is likely to fall under.
Single click on the grey arrow and a list of categories will appear. Click on the name of the category required. Eg Education and Learning.
OR
Alternatively, a selection of the most frequently used sub-categories is available underneath each blue main category name. Each of these sub-category names displayed in grey is also clickable.
This may help you to reach the information you are looking for in fewer steps.
Single click on the name of the sub-category. Eg Schools. |
|
A new page will load and more categories will become available
Continue clicking on the option that most describes the content are looking for.
You finally reach a single page that contains all the information relevant to the choices you have made. |
The "Breadcrumb Trail"
As well as being able to use your browser's "back" button to retrace your steps, each page has what is known as a "Breadcrumb trail".
Each word in the chain is clickable, so that you can go back any number of steps in one go.
This is displayed above the categories in the left pane, and shows the path you have taken to arrive at your current position.
The "Quick Nav"
The "Quick Nav" is an alternative way to move around the site. This is the drop down menu located below the Cambridgshire County Council logo.
The "Quick Nav" allows users to go directly to any of the main categories. Once a category has been selected from the menu, the site will automatically take you to the relevant page.
