Altering text size and contrast

A built in feature of this site allows visitors to select the size of the text they wish to view the website in, to ensure it is easily readable.

Visitors are also able to control the screen contrast with the “high contrast” setting. This has been designed to aid visitors with visual difficulties by providing highly contrasting text and background colours.

Text sizing

The text size control can be seen in the header of every page and offers small, large and high contrast settings.

When one of the three options is selected, it will be retained across the website, until these setting are changed.

Some pages held on older or externally provided systems, such as press releases and meeting agendas, are unable to offer this functionality. This is something we are dedicated to improving in the future.

This functionality only works if JavaScript is enabled on your computer. Please see the FAQs on the right hand side of this page.

High contrast mode

High contrast mode has been added to the website as part of our efforts to improve our accessibility options and more specifically, to aid visitors who experience difficulty with reading website content.

When the high contrast option is selected, the screen will appear with a black background and feature predominantly yellow text.

High contrast mode

All pages will be presented like this until the Return to normal contrast option (located at the head of every page) is selected, then the site will revert to its default settings.

We welcome feedback and would ask you to contact us to discuss any issues or problems you experience using the text size and contrast options.

It is our intention to provide a fully accessible website and your input is important to us.
