How do I enable JavaScript?
JavaScript can sometimes be disabled within security settings to avoid unexpected behaviour whilst interacting with websites. However, in many cases this will also have the side effect of also reducing a site's level of functionality.
Internet Explorer
Click on "Tools" and then select the bottom option "Internet Settings".
A new window will open.
Select the second tab "Security".
Click on "Internet" and then "Custom level".
From here you will have the option to re-enable JavaScript.
Alternatively you may wish to make www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk one of your trusted sites, to view this site at a lower level of alert.
JavaScript is a script (computer language) which can be embedded within HTML to give additional functionality, and allow interaction.
JavaScript is sometimes disabled for security purposes, as scripts contained within websites could potentially contain viruses or cause unexpected results.
However, when JavaScript is disabled many websites will become less dynamic and lose features which contain buttons and functionality powered by JavaScript.
