The accommodation is usually provided through a tenancy agreement.
The support provided varies between schemes - some offer personal care support as well as support to manage the tenancy (e.g. help with managing money, organising household tasks and maintenance).
Enquiries can be made direct to the housing providers or through your District Council. All people allocated to supported housing have to be registered with the housing department of their District Council.
Providers of supported housing
There are a variety of supported housing providers in Cambridgeshire.
Apply for supported housing
Supported housing is managed though your District Council. You will need to contact the District Council housing department who can give you details on:
- Who is eligible for supported housing in your area;
- How to apply for supported housing;
- Which providers have schemes in your area;
- What further steps you need to take if you think you may be eligible for supported housing.
It is also likely that you will have to have an assessment from social services before it is decided whether or not you are eligible for supported housing.
You can also arrange an assessment of your needs, including housing issues, through Cambridgeshire County Council's Contact Centre on 0345 045 5202.
