This is a two-year programme, during which you'll undertake four to five -month placements in the Chief Executive’s Office, Office of Corporate Services, Office of Environment & Community Services and Office of Children and Young People Services.

Placements will give you the opportunity to get to grips with defined projects as well as working with senior officers, Councillors and our partners . You could find yourself working on campaigns to prevent bullying in schools encourage recycling, organising and supporting reviews of our services, working in the corporate centre or developing management information systems.

The opportunities are many and varied but they will all be demanding and they will stretch your abilities.

This programme gives you the opportunity to build an impressive CV in a short time and you will have the opportunity to undertake a nationally recognised qualification in Management.

One General Management Trainee each year has the opportunity to be the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief Executive, Office of Corporate Services. There are also other opportunities for longer term placements.
