Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

What can I do to help?

Answer:

At the Cambridgeshire Historic Environment Record we welcome your input.  This may involve:

  • reporting information about archaeological sites or finds.  In such cases please provide us with as much detail as possible, including where the find was made and the circumstances of discovery.  You may wish to take your objects to a finds identification day to have them identified by the Finds Liaison Officer.
  • becoming a volunteer. If you can spare a few hours per week, and enjoy historical research, why not volunteer to help?  Our work includes data inputting and photograph cataloguing, as well as documentary and library research.  Details on how to become a volunteer at Cambridgeshire Archaeology can be downloaded from the Outreach and Learning pages.
