How do I get involved?

Answer:

There are numerous ways you can get involved in archaeology in Cambridgeshire, depending on your particular interests, age and level of commitment.  Some suggestions are given below:

  • Become a volunteer.  If you want to get involved in field archaeology, local archaeological units may be able to accommodate you.  Check the volunteering and work experience webpages of Oxford Archaeology East.
  • Study archaeology.  The University of Cambridge Institute for Continuing Education offers numerous courses of all aspects of archaeology and local history. 
  • Join a local group.  There are numerous societies who offer lectures, field trips and other opportunities to get involved research local history.  Details for all can be found in the Conduit, an annual publication by the Cambridgeshire Association for Local History.
