The online database is automatically updated each night with information from the staff database. This means that when a new catalogue is completed, the public can access it with the minimum of delay.
We are also using CALM to control our document management during preparation for the Big Move. If you would like to know more about the Archives Service's CALM project, or would like to be kept up-to-date with progress, please contact us using the email link on the right-hand side of the page.
We occasionally ask for volunteers to help us edit records in the database. We have enough volunteers at present, but please look back at this page from time to time, to see whether new opportunities have arisen.
Browser compatibility issues
The online database works best with Internet Explorer 7, which is the browser used by Cambridgeshire County Council and its IT Department. Some results pages may fail to appear in Internet Explorer 8. The pages will appear if the browser settings are changed. Please click on 'CALM - Turn off Cross-Site Scripting Filter' below to find instructions on how to do this. There are some page layout problems in Firefox 3.0, but the actual information still appears, even if it is not immediately apparent.
There is a known technical problem with Firefox 3.5 which causes only the first page of results to appear, not any subsequent pages. Cambridgeshire County Council only runs IE as a corporate browser and therefore we do not have exposure to Firefox or have experience of supporting it. Therefore we cannot provide a solution for this environment.
