In 2003 the County Record Office Huntingdon, as Huntingdonshire Archives was then called, was awarded £33,500 from Heritage Lottery Fund as part of the A2A initiative, towards securing electronic access for the first time to the archives relating to the archdeaconry of Huntingdon and its constituent parishes, including digitising records, new cataloguing and providing Open Days, training sessions and publicity leaflets.
A2A is a national scheme designed to make the catalogues of hundreds of archive repositories across England available on the Web. These catalogues are combined into one single database on the A2A website, to make searching easier. A2A allows you to search across detailed catalogues from nearly two hundred repositories, and to arrange to see or to request copies of archive documents with a few mouse clicks. The database is regularly updated.
