Re-opening of Cambridgeshire Archives after refurbishment
Cambridgeshire Archives in Shire Hall, Cambridge, is now open again to the public.
Refurbishment work has included the removal of a wall to create a more open, spacious and welcoming space, redecoration, re-carpeting, a new layout, and new furniture. Our new searchroom has a brighter, more comfortable feel, and provides a modern environment for researchers.
Staff have also taken the opportunity of the refurbishment closure to to carry out essential stocktaking work, and to focus their efforts on listing and repackaging work for the move into a new building in due course.
