Posters, leaflets and exhibitions
All libraries have some space for the free display of posters and leaflets. This page gives details of quantity, delivery and distribution, acceptability, and on the display of commercial material where permitted
How many free leaflets?
- 200 max. leaflets for distribution between all libraries
- 50 max. leaflets for a single library or between a small group of libraries
Free poster display guidelines
How many posters? - only one copy of a poster will be displayed per library
Size and condition - acceptable for a poster is generally no larger than A4 and no smaller than A5
Display time - usually displayed for up to one month, according to space and demand
Waiting lists- smaller libraries cannot display many posters at a time, all libraries may operate waiting lists and we do not guarantee display
Distribution and Delivery
Any individual library - posters and leaflets for any single library can be given directly to the library supervisor

Acceptability
All material accepted for display must be "legal, decent, honest and truthful" and must be "prepared with a sense of responsibility to consumers and society". For full guidelines on appropriate content please read our linked policy document
Priority will be given to
- material that has been produced by the Library Service or Cambridgeshire County Council or any of its partners
- material relating to the immediate local area
- national information that requires public action
- material produced by charities, voluntary and community organisations
Commercial posters and leaflets
These may be displayed, for a charge, only at the following libraries: Huntingdon, March, and St Ives
Please hand in these posters and leaflets in person to the appropriate library. We regret that we will not be able to display commercial posters in the Cambridge City area while the Central Library is closed for redevelopment
Exhibition space
Available, for a charge, at Huntingdon, March, St. Ives and Wisbech
Special conditions apply to attendance by the exhibitor at displays in the children’s library or containing content that is likely to be of interest to children. In accordance with Cambridgeshire County Council policy, exhibitors wishing to remain with their exhibition, in order to make contact with the public, are required to have been CRB checked under the auspices of the county council. If this is necessary the cost of a Standard Disclosure Check will be added to the hire fee for the exhibition space
