All our library buildings have an entrance that is accessible to wheelchair users, a low-level service counter and where appropriate, lifts to all floors. Handrails, portable hearing induction loops and clear signs are also provided.
We are committed to enabling easier access to printed text, computers and the internet for people with disabilities. All People's Network computers allow screen settings to be adjusted to show different sized text and coloured backgrounds.

A range of adaptive technology equipment is available in Central Library Cambridge and our learning centres.
Central Library, Cambridge has:
Six accessible computers on the second floor, which all have:
- Supernova (screen reader and screen magnifier)
- Guide (screen reader and magnifier, plus other functions for visually impaired people, such as the facility to read out a printed document)
There are also:
- CCTV magnifiers for printed materials
- Scanners
- Height-adjustable workstations
