What is my Library Barcode?

To access your account on the library catalogue you will need to enter your Library Barcode and PIN. Your Library Barcode can be found on your library membership card and will begin with the letters DD.

You will only need to enter DD followed by the first 12 digits with no spaces.

I am asked for a PIN when I try to access my account. What is a PIN and how do I get one?

What is a PIN?

A library PIN is an extra identification number. You will need one for:

  • Internet access in the library
  • Accessing the library catalogue from home to renew or request
  • Accessing library subscription services from home

How do I get a PIN?

New library members will automatically be given a PIN but if you already have a library membership card there are three ways to get one:

Please note that under the terms of the Data Protection Act we can only provide a PIN to the named holder of a library card. The only exception to this ruling is that we can provide the PIN for a child under the age of 12 to his/ her parent/ guardian

How do I change my PIN?

If you would like to change your PIN to the number of your choice there are three ways to do this:

To access your personal information and library account you will need to enter the barcode from your library card

Use the DD plus the next 12 numbers, without spaces. Some older library cards may have an additional 2 numbers but these should be ignored
