Question:
Can children join the library?
Answer:
- Children of any age can join the library from babies to teens. Children from 0-4 can also participate in our joining incentive scheme called Bookcrawl. Please click here for information about Bookcrawl
- Ask for a form when you go to the library, if you can show us your school homework book or some other identification (eg bus pass) you can join and take out 2 things immediately. This will be introductory membership
- To get full membership, someone over 18 (preferably your Mum or Dad or guardian) must sign the joining form and show the library 2 things that prove their name, address and signature - then you can borrow up to 12 things at a time
- If you are over 16 but under 18 you don't need anyone else to sign for you for full membership but you need to prove your own address and signature. There is no need for proof of age. You may not borrow '18' videos
- Once you have your library card you can use it in any public library in Cambridgeshire to borrow books, story cassettes, videos and DVDs - you can have up to 12 things out on loan at a time
