Service for playgroups and childminders

We now have a collection of over 30 unique storysacks which will delight and entertain hundreds of local children

A storysack is a large cloth bag containing:

- A quality children's picture book
- A non-fiction book relating to the theme of the story
- Soft toys or puppets representing the story's main characters
- Props and scenery to use in acting out the story
- Rhyme cards relating to the story
- An audio cassette of the story
- A game to help develop literacy/numeracy skills
- A prompt card suggesting discussion points and related activities

Pre-school groups and childminders will be supplied with a list of available storysacks. The collection is administered by the Under Fives Library Service

The storysacks will be sent out in a box, to a local library for collection by the group/childminder

This will operate under the same delivery system as the Under Fives Library Service and library staff will notify the group/childminder that the sack is ready for collection. If there is heavy demand we will maintain a waiting list for sacks
