The Moor Play centre for under fives, their parents and carers based at the Christian Centre off Nene Rd, Huntingdon, offers stories, rhymes, and singing and creative play sessions and has a wide range of books and toys for loan.
Parents and carers are actively encouraged to read and play with their children and everyone has to join in with the songs and rhymes at singing time.
Moor Play is not a crèche, it is a place where adults and children engage together. Cambridgeshire County Council's Libraries and Information Service and Economic and Community Development Unit, Huntingdonshire District Council and the Care and Education Partnership fund the project. It also receives support from Huntingdon Nursery School, local Rotary Groups and from Women's Institute groups from Huntingdon, Hemingford Grey and Werrington.
Health Visitors run a baby clinic at Moor Play from 1.30-2.30pm during the Wednesday afternoon session.
